Our scientists do world class research and we're keen for everyone, including those - like farmers - who can benefit from it, to know more about what we do. We also want to encourage more young Maori to consider a career in agriculture and pastoral science.

Every year, we sponsor and attend Maori community events, plus offer scholarships and work experience to Maori students.

The major annual events we are involved with are the New Zealand Maori Excellence in Farming Award, as a gold sponsor, and the Federation of Maori Authorities Conference.

In our workforce Maori are under-represented in the sciences and we'd like to help change this. We have a new scholarship and work experience programme for Maori tertiary students and offer annual scholarships via the Otago Mana Pounamu Awards that enable Maori secondary school students to attend Hands-On Science.
